Pain-Free Knees.
A simple practice for leg strength, mobility and movement confidence. The title is an aspiration, not a promise of pain elimination.
A note from Andrew
The marathon that changed my approach.
When I first got into running, I had persistent IT band pain in both knees. My right knee was worse, but neither one let me forget it.
In my very first marathon, I ran eight-minute miles all the way to mile 16. Then the pain became so bad that I stiff-leg walked the remaining 10 miles. I finished in more than five hours and 20 minutes.
That race sent me hunting for answers: Why did my knees hurt? How could I be athletic and in good shape, yet struggle to tolerate running? Could this change?
For me, the turning point was consistency: showing up for strength and movement work day after day, rather than looking for a one-workout fix. Over time, that work helped me move beyond the knee pain that had stopped me. I’ve since run more than 100 miles without that same IT band pain.
That experience is why I care about helping people build stronger, more confident movement habits. This guide offers a simple starting routine—not the exact training plan I used, and not a promise that everyone will have the same result. You don’t have to prove your toughness by pushing through pain.
